The Governor of the Bank of England has said that a no-deal Brexit would cost the country more than Covid. The Chancellor Sunak, says the opposite that Britain should not accept a deal at any cost, because Covid was a bigger threat than Brexit. Although EU in Brussels says that they are close to a deal, there has been no agreement so far.
The Pope says for the first time that the Uighur people are being oppressed. China denies this – they say their camps are for educating the people. They have millions of people locked up.
Vaccine developed at Oxford University is reported as 70% effective but if you have two doses it will be over 90% effective. That is good news as this is much cheaper than the other vaccines and is easier to produce and distribute across the world. Vulnerable people should have the vaccine by Easter in the UK. The company Astra Zeneca has said they will not make a profit from this – it will be sold for the cost price until the pandemic is over.
Are you waiting for Black Friday (27th November) so that you buy some big presents or goods like TVs, computers and so on? Well make sure you do some research because not all the things they sell are real bargains and many may be cheaper at other times in the year.
Need some slippers or interesting gifts for Christmas? British Airways are selling off some items from the first class on their 747 aircrafts – because they are not needed now since people are not travelling. Special plates and bowls and cutlery for the first class flights will be on sale.
