Pubs and restaurants open up but experts say better to meet outdoors
The Government says it is safe to meet with more people and to go indoors and even to hug friends and relatives.  Health experts says this is risky.  They ask people to keep their distance and to meet outdoors – not inside.  The worry is about the Indian covid which spreads quickly.
United Nations very worried about conflict in Israel
UN says there is a major risk – this is because Israel attack on Gaza and the rockets from Gaza, can cause a major war in the area.  Israel has made 950 air strikes on Gaza;  Gaza has fired 2,900 rockets.  Each side blames the other and they will not stop.  Other countries can be involved.  The other countries support the Arabs.  President Biden is supporting Israel – he says they are right to defend themselves.  Many American Jewish people do not support the leader of Israel.  There are protests in London and other cities.  Stop the war, before it is too late.
Not enough staff for restaurants and services
With shops and restaurants opening up, they need to have staff.  This is difficult.  In the past, when UK was in the EU, many people came from other countries in Europe to have jobs – sometimes only for a short time.  Now they do not come.  They say over one million people went home to their own country because of Covid.  They are not coming back.  Businesses say they will open but will not have enough staff. They have a trial of a new text message which can be sent to mobile phones and even smart watches.  It will send warnings about floods, or fire.    These alerts could be useful to deaf people  .. But only if they explain properly.  Otherwise people might panic.
