It is getting expensive to come into the UK.  The Health Minister has announced that all travellers coming into the UK (British and foreign) have to go into quarantine in a hotel.  Each person will have to pay for the accommodation, transport and testing – could be £1,750 per person.  People who tell lies about where they have come from  – they can be fined £10,000.  For some it could be up to ten years in jail.
Problems over a new coal mine.  The Government and the local council allowed a new coal mine to open in Cumbria, North England.  It would give some jobs.  But this is against the Climate Accord.  The government’s advisory Climate Change Committee (CCC) in December recommended that the use of coking coal should be stopped by 2035.  But the council gave permission to dig until 2049.  It doesn’t make sense.  Now there has to be a review.
No custard creams in Belgium.  A chain of British shops in Belgium have empty shelves.  There are no deliveries of food since December.  It is the same for Marks and Spencer – they have shops in France and Morrison’s shops in Gibraltar.  All struggling because of Brexit.
Now rubber bullets in Myanmar.  People are still protesting on the streets in Myanmar because the army has taken over.  The soldiers use water cannon and now rubber bullets.  People are worried because the army could start using real bullets.  The army want to be in control for at least a year.
