Covid-19 app?  Have you got it?  Tried it?  Well in a number of places staff have been told not to use and to switch it off.  In one school a teacher got the app, then had a test which was positive.  He went off to quarantine.  The Covid-19 app system then contacted three other teachers to say they had to get a test and to self isolate.  One of those teachers did get a test which was negative so the school told that teacher to go back to work – which is against the rules – they have to stay at home for 2 weeks.  Some employers are doing the same and banning the app in case they lose staff.
The Government has plans to open 10 inland border parking sites to cope with lorries held up by Brexit issues.  These are miles away from the border ports like Dover or Liverpool.  They are just places to keep lorries so that they do not clog up the channel ports.  They are trying avoid the 7,000 trucks which will back up when the Brexit rules come into place in January.  People coming into the UK will not be able to use the EU identity card – they will have to get a passport.  The plan also says that lorries will have to get a permit to travel into Kent
There is a lot of talk about fishing in the Brexit talks.  One point not mentioned is about MPA – marine protected areas.  These are areas where there is not supposed to be fishing so that the fish, dolphins, and smaller fish and can develop safely.  There are 73 areas in the sea around the UK.  However, the actions of fishing boats can be checked and 71 out of 73 areas have been fished.  Not only that, these boats (from UK, EU and Russia) dredge along the bottom and scoop up everything.  This destroys the plants on the seafloor and everything that the fish feed on.  It is very damaging and means less fish in future.
