Gloomy letter from the Government about Brexit delays.  The Government now warns the businesses that after Brexit there may be large delays in Kent with up to 7 thousand lorries waiting to cross to France.  They could be waiting up to 2 days.  There is a complication that staff at the border and customs could be catch the virus and be off work.  If the EU has to check all the lorries, then this will make everything worse and it will build up over the first weeks of 2021 and could last for three months.  Lorry owners are not happy.  They say the Government is not prepared.
Even with 200 thousand deaths in the USA there are still people who believe that coronavirus is a hoax – fake.  Some believe it is just older people who get it and then they are going to die anyway.  Older people not happy about this attitude.  The Chinese ambassador to the United Nations said the USA response to the virus was a terrible failure.  Trump commented on the 200 thousand deaths – said “it was a shame”.  He says it would have been much worse except for his actions to ban the Chinese.  he seems to have an alternative reality.  The health experts in the USA say that it will all get worse during the autumn.
Surveys across the world indicate that countries do not see the USA as a leader.  One key former adviser in a conference says the world sees the USA as an object for pity.  She said the failures in the way it deals with the virus, Black Lives Matter, climate change and the political arguments mean people have no confidence in the USA
