A New medical report suggests that in some cases coronavirus can cause hearing loss which is permanent.  We know the virus can affect taste and smell.  A new study in the UK says there can also be an effect on hearing.  It starts with tinnitus (ringing in the ears) but there can then be internal damage to hearing.
It looks like migrants have problems in getting health care.  As well as being kept in camps while they wait to see if they can be accepted in UK, the NHS will not give them treatment.  They say they are not permanently in the UK and so cannot get free health care.  This is not just simple illness but can include people with heart problems and cancer.  Many people have to wait more than 6 months before they can get treatment from the NHS for these serious problems.
University staff are now angry about the way the universities have allowed students to come back and live in residences.  They found out that the medical experts (weeks ago) advised against this saying that all teaching for students should be online – which means they could have stayed at home.  Because the students came back to university , over 15,000 now have the virus … and the staff are put at risk as well.
