Government is paying private company to train people to contact virus cases.  Boss of the programme now thinks it will not be fully working until late June.  Trainees say they only had to read a single document and take an online test – just about an hour’s work.  The tracers are supposed to have call centre experience and were offered close to minimum wage.  This may not be appropriate to deal with patients in crisis.

There were only 197 new cars produced in April this year in UK.  Usually in April there should be about 400 thousand.  The factories had to lockdown so no cars were made.  This happening all over Europe and it affects car parts as well as whole cars.  Showrooms can open next week but dealers worry that no one will buy new cars just now.

According to Guardian newspaper, there were plans for complete lockdown of care homes in April, when it looked bad, but Government refused.  Staff could be made to stay in the homes and residents with the virus would move to special hospitals.  But the plan did not happen.
