Belarus show video of hijacked journalist
The EU has banned all flights from Belarus – they cannot land in the EU and they must not cross the airspace of the EU.  They have also made more sanctions against individuals and companies in Belarus.  This is because the President of Belarus ordered a Ryanair flight to land in Minsk.  He said Hamas organisation in Gaza had planted a bomb.  Hamas said they did not.  Everyone was searched but one man and his girlfriend were arrested.  He was a journalist who criticised the government.  He appeared in a video to “confess”.  But his family says the police have beaten him to make him say those things.  They say he is being tortured.  President Biden says the hijacking of the plane is outrageous.
Covid confusion in England
On Friday, the Government gave information that people in some areas with Indian Covid should not be travelling.  The Local councils did not know this.  Some information says there is no local lockdown but the other information says in 8 areas people cannot meet indoors.  Bolton has a huge surge of covid and there is pressure on the hospital to find beds for people.
USA wants to help Gaza to re-build the damage
USA now say they want to help the people of Gaza to recover from the bombing by Israel.  More than 250 people were killed – many children.  But USA continues to say Israel has a right to defend itself.  And they say they help Gaza but not the Hamas organisation.
