One major change in the US elections this time is the record number of women and women of colour who are standing for the Congress.  These are both Democrat and Republican.  If elected, it will mean the Congress is becoming more like the people in the country and can be a better match for the views of all people.  At the moment only 127 women are in Congress, the rest of the 535 are men.  If it was a balance there should be 50% women.
Other things to think about in lockdown.  You will still be able to move house – that is not affected.  You can defer payment of your mortgage if you are out of work.  This was due to finish on 31st October but that is now extended.  You still have to pay in the future but not just now.  If you have booked a short break you are supposed to get your money back but Airbnb are refusing to pay back the booking fee.  If you are due to go on holiday abroad, you can go if the flight is before Wednesday.  On Thursday you can’t go.

A village in the south of Scotland has just bought 5,000 acres of land from the Duke who owned it and used it for grouse shooting.  They are planning to make it into a nature reserve and try to bring back the wildlife.  It cost £3.8 million and they just managed to get all the money before the deadline of 31st October.
