New word – “scholarisation” – it means no playtime

In the UK, more children are forced to do school work from the age of 4 years and to do homework as well.  Their time is fixed in structures – classroom work, sports and culture.  There is no time for just playing.    In the past, children could play outside on their own.  That does not happen and is worse in the pandemic.  Other countries just allow children to play.  In Finland, they start formal school at age 7 – before that they have play school (kindergarten) where they can learn through their own playing.  Most European countries do not start formal school until aged 6 at least.  This could be a damage to our UK children.
Eating disorders have increased during lockdown
Health experts say that more teenagers and young people have eating disorders because of being at home.  This can be refusing to eat, or eating a lot then going to the toilet or eating and then having too much exercises – they burn up all the effect of the food.  They become thin and have serious problems like heart failure.  Some have to go to hospital but many never have any help.
UK Government refuses to have a Covid Inquiry – they say they are too busy
There is a lot of anger about the Government attitude. Many people have lost their partners and parents – they want some answers.  The families have got together and they are using lawyers to make the Government produce a report.  The Government says no and they will not do it for months and months.  They are too busy with the vaccine.
