Now a lot of discussion about how to finish lockdown. Question how to keep people apart at the office, question how to travel on bus or train. Airports say it is impossible to have 2 metres apart as queue for jumbo jet would go outside the airport building! There will be some announcements this week.
Yes! Government said there were 100 thousand tests for virus but now on weekend much less – about 80,000. At this rate, it will take over 2 years to test everyone in the UK… even just one test each. Has to be much more testing. Do you know about app to trace people in contact with virus? Apple and Google are working together to develop an app on your phone to tell if you have been in contact with someone who has the virus. The picture below shows how it will work because phones “talk” to each other through “bluetooth”. Germany and Ireland and others will use the app.
But UK has decided to develop its own …. Some trials on the isle of Wight.
Students still have to pay full fees to University, even though it is closed and the lessons are sent online. This will be difficult for deaf students. We will investigate more on this.
Not sure if the Universities will be open for new students in September. Big worry that students from other countries will not come to UK
