The drug developed by Oxford University has passed its first tests.  It has been tried in Brazil and in South Africa.  Results so far are good – it does create defence against the virus in the body.  There is some way to go before it can be released to the public and of course, it would take a long time go around everyone to give them the vaccine.  But it could be a breakthrough.
Grenfell Tower inquiry is continuing.  This is the tower block in London which went on fire and killed over 70 people.   The council needed to save money.  The firm who was installing the cladding told the council they could save £300 thousand with cheaper cladding (not fire proof).  Council agreed but the real saving was £400 thousand and it looks like the company (Rydon) kept the £100 thousand saving for their own profit.
Marks and Spencer is not doing well during the virus.  They will lose over 900 jobs.  Food sales are OK but clothes do not appeal to many age groups in the population.  They are not focused on one age group and so the clothes are not selling if there is a 25 year old model but the person trying to buy is 66 years old..
UK says China is breaking human rights laws by having camps for Muslim people in the west of the country.  They say there are over 11 million people who have been forced into these camps.  They are Uighur people.  China says they are trying to prevent terrorism but deny that there are forced camps.  UK says there is evidence to show that people do not want to be there and are kept under guard.
