There was supposed to be a big push to reduce the sugar in food.  This was because of people being overweight and obese – especially children.  Public Health England wanted 20% cut.  It was voluntary but big companies said they would cut the sugar.  The result?  In three years only 3% of sugar has been cut.  There was some success because sugary drinks (cola, lemonade) had some tax and people have reduced buying those by nearly half.  Some breakfast cereals have improved but people have been buying more sweets and chocolate.  This is mostly bad news as people who are obese are more likely to get ill and die if they catch the virus.
NHS England is promising £10 million to set up clinics across the country for people who have long-covid.  They say 10% of people still have symptoms 3 weeks after they have had the virus.  They think that up to 60 thousand people have long term effects more than 3 months.  Special consultants and doctors will be there to deal with breathlessness, tiredness and brain fog (when you can’t think clearly).
The Department of Education broke the law about managing data on pupils.  The auditors made a list of 130 things the Department had to do to improve the safety of the personal data which they hold on millions of pupils.  They had no proper data protection, records management and problems with data sharing.
