A new report says that 27 thousand people died from Covid because the Government delayed the lockdown into January.  The report says it was obvious that the cases were rising fast, from the beginning of December.  But the Government kept saying they wanted people to have Christmas together.  They delayed and delayed.  Then in January they had to have severe lockdown.  Too late.  The report says the Government failed three times by delaying the lockdowns.  Now PM Boris is saying there could be another surge as it is happening in other parts of Europe and it is going to come to UK.
OK … Don’t say “cheese” for Brexit.  January figures show that export of cheese collapsed from £45 million to only £7 million.  Whisky down from £105 million to only £40 million and even chocolate down from £41 million to just £13 million.  Salmon and beef nearly disappeared altogether and even fish went down.  Not just Brexit but this is serious for the UK.
The Government is cutting the number of troops in the army.  They will only have 70 thousand now.  There will be more robots and drones.  There will also be a Space command … ? fighting in Space?  PM Boris said in 2019 – they were not going to cut the army at all.  Now they will have 16 thousand less soldiers.  Last week they said there were big problems with Russia and other countries – but they are cutting down the defence.  Other countries think that there are not enough UK soldiers to fight if there is a long campaign and UK will be weaker now.
