Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave major speech on television on Sunday night about plan to end lockdown. He says it has to be slow and careful and if virus comes back, they will go back to full lockdown.
He says there will be a warning system from Green – number 1 (all OK) right up to Red – number 5 (very serious). This will be checked all the time.
He says the R number has to be low. If it goes up, then lockdown will come back. (R number explained on this link).
More details on the plans to be published on Monday. Prime Minister will explain to other MPs and also answer questions.
Labour Party and the Unions say this is all unclear.
There will be quarantine for 14 days for people coming into the country. (This will not apply to Ireland or France).
