On Saturday, England Public Health officials reported to the Government that both Oxford-AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs give 90% protection against hospitalisation by Covid-19. On Sunday, Prince William urged everyone to have the jab. He warned people who are against the jab to stop spreading rumours and wrong information about the vaccines. On Friday, the Queen said it’s selfish not to have the jab. She urged people who have doubts about the jab to think about others rather than themselves.
On Friday, Alex Salmond Scotland’s former First Minister accused Nicola Sturgeon the First Minister, of misleading parliament. He made a statement to the parliamentary inquiry in Edinburgh. He claimed that Nicola Sturgeon broke the ministerial code (rules of parliament). He claimed she lied to parliament about when she became aware of sexual harassment allegations against him. Nicola Sturgeon will appear before the same inquiry committee later this week. If the accusations are proven to be correct it could lead to serious problems for the First Minister.
Tiger Woods’ family have said he will make a full recovery and come back stronger after his car crash last week. He is in hospital with his legs badly shattered but is slowly improving.
Lord Rothermere, Chairman of the Daily Mail, claimed it is bad that the Australian government has changed the law concerning Facebook and Google. The Australian Government had introduced new laws to force Facebook to pay for news. Then, Facebook blocked all sites which used news. Google also threatened to withdraw its search engine from Australia. The Australians changed the plan. That has caused concern with governments around the world. The UK Cultural Secretary has held talks with Facebook management to raise concerns about the Australian situation. Google and Facebook have copied news from the press without paying for it.
Princess Latifa, the daughter of the king of Dubai has begged British police to reinvestigate the disappearance of her elder sister Princess Shamsa. She disappeared 19 years ago. Princess Latifa also sent photos and messages because she is held captive by her father. The BBC gave the handwritten letter and photos to Cambridgeshire Police.
