The main points from the Government Guidelines about corona virus

  1. This is not a short-term crisis. It is likely that COVID-19 will be in the human population for a long-time, possibly causing epidemics again and again.
  2.  At the moment, we cannot make drastic changes.  Opening the schools completely or relaxing all social distancing now, will lead to a second wave of virus.  This could be bigger than the first time with more cases.
  3. There is no easy or quick solution. Only the development of a vaccine or effective drugs can control this epidemic
  4. The UK must get the number of new cases reduced.
  5. We are still learning about who is at greatest personal risk and we need to find out how the virus spreads.
  6. The virus spread is difficult to discover. Some people can spread the virus but don’t know they are infectious. People who develop symptoms often do not show signs of being infected for around five days.
  7. We must prepare for the winter flu season, which is coming later in the year. More people may have coronavirus symptoms at that time.
  8. People have to follow all the rules or else it could quickly get out of control.
