World News 7th December
If you think the situation is bad in the UK, it is more complicated in the USA.  Trump had a rally and he talked for 2 hours.  He said he can still win the election and that there was huge fraud and Biden had stolen the election.  He has asked for donations from people to fight against the result and raised over $200 million.  It is not clear exactly where this money is going.  He has been trying to sue the individual States but almost all his cases have been rejected.  In 2 hours, he hardly mentioned the Covid crisis.  He claimed he was responsible for the development of the vaccine (which was developed in Germany).  There are now over 15 million cases and nearly 290 thousand deaths. The people at his rally did not have to wear masks or keep distance.  Now his main legal adviser is in hospital with the virus.
More riots and violence in Paris.  The Government is trying to pass a new security law but people are objecting to the restrictions and to covid restrictions.  The Unions also have a regular protest (every year) on the first Saturday in December about unemployment.  Most of the protests in cities in France have been peaceful.  In Paris young (?) people dressed in black with hoods started setting fire to cars, smashing shop windows and throwing burning bottles at police.
The situation in Tigray, in Ethiopia looks grim.  Reports of massacres and violence on both sides.  Thousands of people have fled to Sudan.  They lost all their belongings.
A Japanese space craft has managed to collect rocks from an asteroid in space.  The asteroid is 4.6 million years old and the Japanese managed to collect the rock and sent it back to earth – it landed in Australia.  Now the scientists will be able to analyse it for more information on how the solar system was formed.
