Every two years there is a General Assembly at the United Nations and the leaders of countries all meet together.  This time the talks have to be at a distance.   This does not stop the problems between China and the USA. 
In America, there are over 200 thousand deaths from the virus, but Trump says it is all the fault of China who tried to keep the virus a secret.  Trump claims the US is controlling the virus and that there will be vaccines.  He says that China controls the World Health Organisation and that he is withdrawing the US funding.  People listening to his speech say he was just shifting the blame from his own bad management and that his speech was just political to keep American voters happy.
President Xi from China said they did not want a conflict or cold war with anyone and that no one country should be bossing people around.  He meant the USA although he did not say. 
The leader of the UN said the world did not want to be split between USA and China and he urged that people to cooperate.  Many other leaders said the same. 
Putin wanted to have an online meeting to talk about the vaccines. 
The President of Brazil said people were wrong about the environment in his country – even though there are huge fires in the Amazon.
