Dominion sues Trump’s lawyers
The Canadian company which provides voting machines for the US election are suing Trump’s lawyers for big lies about election fraud. They sue lawyer Giuliani for $1.3 billion because he said again and again that their machines were from Venezuela and were controlled by communists. He repeated these false claims on the day the Trump supporters ran into the Capitol building. Dominion say that many States are now not sure and may not give Dominion contracts in future because of the lies.
Major riots in the Netherlands against curfew
People on the streets attacked the police and burned cars because of the curfew due to Covid. In Eindhoven, they threw golf balls and fireworks and looted supermarkets. The police arrested 200 people.
Wealthy people could pay for the rest of the world
There are 10 men in the world whose money increased by £400 billion during Covid. This is enough to protect everyone in the world from being poor because of the virus, and it would pay for a vaccine for everyone. Oxfam says the Governments should tax these super rich people. Some individuals have become more rich during Covid – Amazon, Tesla and Facebook bosses have become even more rich.
United Nations say job crisis worse than in 1930s.
The United Nations says that the Covid crisis in 2020 has lost 225 million full time jobs. This is the worst ever. Vaccines are developing but not clear that they will be given to poorer countries. The job losses are worse for women and young people. The situation may not improve for
