Remember the attack on Charlie Hebdo office in Paris in 2015. There were 17 deaths. Finally yesterday, the Court found 14 people guilty. They were supporting the 3 terrorists who did the shooting. Eleven of the people were captured and were in the Court. Three escaped to Northern Syria – possibly two of them were killed there. The 3 attackers who were born in Paris were killed by the police. They attacked Charlie Hebdo company, because their weekly magazine printed “cartoon drawings of the Prophet Muhammad” – This is forbidden in Islam. This made people angry. French people have a strong culture. They support freedom of expression in the Press (newspapers). Five years since the killings French people are still shaken up (shocked) by the attacks.
Tom Cruise a famous US star who does his own dangerous stunts. He was very angry with the film crew. While filming Mission Impossible 7, he screamed at them for not keeping social distance. Tom Cruise said that he is protecting the future of cinema and will not stop filming. The film will be shown in UK in November 2021.
Governments and health experts are telling families across Europe to wear face masks at Christmas gatherings to protect themselves from COVID-19. This also applies to trave and in public places. WHO (World Health Organisation) say that many gatherings will have young and old people from different households. The warning is strong. If they do not stick to the rules, it could be the last time they see their relatives alive.
