World Health Organisation says the virus is still increasing.  They say we cannot solve the problem unless countries work together.  This is not happening just now.  Brazil now over 69 thousand deaths.  Politicians in South America are getting the virus even Presidents in Brazil, in Bolivia.  Galicia in Northern Spain has gone back into lockdown because of a surge.  There are worries about Syria which now has cases because they could spread to the refugee camps there.  Hundreds of people with the virus just left hospital in Romania because they said it was against the law to make them stay in hospital isolation.   Trump says open the schools “stop this nonsense.”… even in areas where virus is increasing.  We are a long way from having cooperation between countries.
UK Government has decided not to be part of the vaccine plan which the EU has set up.  This plan is so that they will be able to buy enough vaccine to share among all the countries.  If individual countries try to get the vaccine they will have less chance because bigger countries will have more money and power.  EU has 450 million people and lots of power.  But UK thinks it can do it on its own.
UK Government is looking at Germany’s system for apprentices and training.  Nearly half young people do not go to University but go into apprenticeships for 3 years.  They spend half the time learning on the job and half in a vocational training school.  This is for many different types of jobs like care workers, bakers, booksellers as well as industries like engineering and factory work.  The companies and Unions and Government do not work together like they do in Germany.
