Trouble in Nigeria with police shooting demonstrators.  It started when police were beating a man.  People came on the streets to protest and then it became bigger to protest about corruption in the Government.  The police started to move people away and the after days of protests they were told to use guns and then it was live ammunition.  People died.  The protests continue.
Spain is now the first country in Europe to reach over 1 million covid cases.  More towns are in lockdown and they say the figures are probably higher as there is not enough testing.
Germany has over 11 thousand new cases for the first time.  New Zealand finds new cases in a group of 25 Russian workers arriving in the country.  They are in 2 week strict quarantine.
Electric cars are getting cheaper to make and by 2024, it is said that the cost of making an electric car will be the same as making a petrol car.  Batteries will also improve and be cheaper.  We will wait to see if the car makers actually reduce the prices.
There may be more changes in the weather this year because of the sea temperature in the Pacific Ocean.  When the sea temperature is lower than normal it creates a condition called La Nina (Spanish… they say it as La Neen yah).  It creates more rain in Australia and Asia and more snow in Canada and drought in the south of USA.  It eventually reaches UK making the winter colder.
