Trouble in Brazil – not just Covid. President Bolsonaro ignores Covid as it spreads across the country and hospitals cannot cope. He has sacked several ministers of health. On Tuesday he sacked the minister of defence and then the three heads of the army, navy and air force, quit in protest. They say he wants the army to work for him and not for the country. He wants to be a dictator.
Yesterday we reported on problems for British people in Spain. Now there are problems in France. If you live in France you need to have a French driving licence or EU licence. British people were told they had to apply this year. But the online system rejected their applications. This is because there is no agreement between UK and France … because of Brexit. If you do not have a licence in France you will have a fine up to £12,000. British people are older and often live in small villages. There is no public transport – they need to drive. UK Government says “we are working on it..”
What’s in the sky? Stars of course .. but they could be hidden by all the junk that we have put into orbit. Astronomers say the space junk is obstructing their work to study the distant planets and stars. There is 9,200 tonnes of space objects orbiting the earth. One tonne .. is one thousand kilograms – that make 9 million kilograms in space. The junk reflects the sunlight and that messes up what appears in telescopes. Some time there will need to be a garbage man to collect all the wasted objects and clean up space.
Remember from today, DeafStation will be on holiday for Easter. We will be back on 12th April with high quality news.
