Real fears for refugees in Syria as the virus has hit the camps. There is very little testing and the medical help is very limited. There are huge numbers of refugees who are living in poor conditions and all close together. They are at risk.
As well as the election in the USA where you vote for Trump or Biden, there are other issues which people have to vote on. In California there is a big decision on the ballot paper. This is called AB5 Proposition 22 – it is a proposal by people who work for Uber and the other similar companies to give them proper workers’ rights – holidays and protection. At the moment, Uber says the drivers are self-employed and have to meet all their own expenses. With Covid, the number of people taking the taxi service is reduced and so the drivers have less income. If the decision goes against Uber, it could affect their whole business and all businesses which have self-employed workers.
US Election is now in the final week. Next week the people make the final decisions. It will affect people across the world. The Vice President is ignoring the requirement to self-isolate after members of his staff got the virus. He says he is a key worker and is allowed to continue to go to rallies. Trump just ignores the virus and thinks it will go away. His supporters are turning up to Democrat rallies to try to disrupt the speakers. Trump has not agreed to accept the results and so teams of lawyers are getting prepared in case it all goes to Court after the votes are counted.
