India is now third worst for virus cases after USA and Brazil.  It goes above Russia but we are not sure of the Russian figures.  New South Wales (Sydney) in Australia has closed the border with Victoria because of surge in cases in Melbourne. But if you take the number of cases/deaths per million people, then it is other countries that are worst – Belgium, then UK, then Spain, then Italy.
USA has 130 thousand deaths from virus.  States that ended lockdown are closing down again.  Over 2.5 million cases.  But Trump says everything is fine.  He says 99% of cases are “totally harmless”; attacks black lives matter as “left-wing fascists”.  He says he has to defeat them like they defeated the Nazis.  Health officials say this is crazy talk and has no facts.  Governors of states are very worried about the numbers going to hospital.  Trump says he wants to have a “garden of American heroes”. But does not include any native Indians, or Asian Americans.  Trump ignores it all.
Independence Day holiday on Saturday – there were large crowds at the beaches in the USA and most were not the correct distance nor wearing masks.  Not everyone believes the guidance rules from the health people.
In Germany (like a lot of places) people don’t wear their masks properly – only covering the mouth and not the nose.  So in Berlin, the bus & train company has asked people NOT TO USE DEODORANT OR ANTI-PERSPIRANT so that people will be forced cover their noses with their masks on properly.  A great smelly idea!
