Good News?  The Myanmar army has released 23,000 prisoners.

It is a New Year holiday.  We cannot check all 23 thousand.  It is not clear if they include the people arrested on the streets by the soldiers.  Soldiers continue to grab people from their homes.
President Biden says US supports Ukraine; Putin tells him not to meddle
Putin says his army is inside Russia and can do what they like.  Other countries should not interfere.  He says they have no plans to invade Ukraine.  Experts think Putin is testing to see if President Biden is serious about the support.  Ordinary people in Ukraine are frightened.
There is a wild fire on Table Mountain by Cape Town in South Africa.
The fire destroyed a café above Cape Town Port. Hundreds of university students have been evacuated. Three helicopters are water-bombing the flames.
Helicopter to fly on Mars – NASA very excited
Remember the spaceship landed on Mars.  They have a rover which drives around collecting samples.  Monday, they will try to fly a tiny helicopter.  No people, of course.  It is like a drone, but it will be amazing, to see pictures from other places in Mars.

You remember the pictures of the volcano in Iceland and the flow of the red hot lava.  There were crowds of people watching.  Now some people have an idea to get married beside the volcano – a very hot (and stinky) wedding.
