Two days after the explosion in Beirut, President Macron of France arrived and was welcomed on the streets by the crowds. There is a petition which has 44 thousand people signed asking France to take over the running of Lebanon.  From 1920 to 1945, France managed Lebanon (they had a mandate).  Now people are asking France to me back for 10 years to stop all the corruption.  People are really angry at their Government.  Many people have lost everything and are worried about their children and the future.
Germany says that anyone coming from a high risk country will have to take a virus test when they arrive.  Germany has an increased rate of cases.  In France, because of holidays, there are not enough people to carry out the testing.  The plans were to test very large numbers of people but the staff have gone off on their annual holiday.  Finland also has increase in cases and they think there is a second wave coming.  People are allowed to meet indoors and outdoors – restaurants are open as normal. In Australia, there will be more travel restrictions as the virus is spreading.  In Melbourne the Government is serious about quarantine and the curfew.  They send teams to people’s houses to check that they are in their homes.  150 people so far have been caught and fined.
A man was thrown out of the IKEA store in Belgium because he was shopping with his wife. The rule is only one person at a time during the virus time.  When you arrive at the store you receive a bracelet – only one.  But man got a second bracelet from a customer who was leaving and so he sneaked in.  The staff caught him talking to his wife and he had to leave.
