Brexit: Lorry drivers fine
EU lorry drivers were fined £32,000 because they did not have the right permits to enter UK since January 1st 2021.  All drivers must have both negative Covid tests and the new permit called “Kent Access Permit”.  Each permit is only for 24 hours which means they must have another one but most drivers going to France had the right papers.
Traffic is low now but it will increase a lot more as time goes by. People are now realising that they will have to pay taxes on exports and imports on some foods and clothing. This means more paperwork than before.
Trump says, “I will go”
For the first time since November 3rd  2020 USA Elections Trump said he will go. He has finally admitted that he lost the elections – he strongly believed that the elections was based on fraud.  But the facts tells him he is wrong.  He also said that the handover to the President-elect Biden will be smooth on 20th January. His Twitter account was frozen so that he could not post any more lies. Vice President Mike Pence went ahead to confirm Mr Biden’s victory against Trump’s wishes.

Violence and Vandalism in the US Capital
The protests led to the death of 4 people at the Capitol Hill over the last two days. Trump’s supporters caused much damage when they broke into the famous building and offices. The police and National Guard was called out to control but there were many problems. 68 people were arrested after the curfew started at 6pm. Perhaps Trump will face court for his dangerous messages which whipped up anger and hate amongst his supporters?
A very bad day for America’s democracy.
