President Biden has now imposed sanctions on senior people in Russia.  He has the support of the EU.  Together they accuse Russia of poisoning Mr Navalny, the opposition leader, who is now in hard labour prison.  USA and EU agree the charges against Navalny are made up.  The sanctions are against senior people like the vice presidents, the head of the Russian intelligence service and the head of prisons.  They are also against companies which develop chemicals.  The sanctions stop people from travelling and stop them using money in the banks.  They will also stop companies from buying goods from these Russian firms.
Last week gunmen kidnapped nearly 300 girls from their boarding school in Norther Nigeria.  On Tuesday, they got free.  This is common now.  The gunmen want money or they want prisoners to be out of jail.  The Government has not admitted if they have given ransom money to the kidnap gang.
France has changed its mind about the AstraZeneca vaccine.  They have approved it to be used in France and they include people aged 65 to 74 years.  The French minister said that they would only give the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine to people over the age of 75 years.
