Biden to blitz Trump policies
Starting Wednesday, new President Biden is planning to reverse many decisions of Trump.  He will join again the Paris Climate agreement – to help the planet.  He will remove the travel ban on Muslim countries. He will force people to wear masks in Government buildings.  He will order children to be with the parents – Trump separated the immigrant families.  He wants 100 million vaccine jabs in 100 days.  This is urgent – 400 thousand people have died of Covid.
Tennis stars in quarantine in Australia
Australian Tennis Open championship starts in February.  The players started to arrive on special charter flights. They had virus test before they got on the plane.  When they arrived in Australia, they were tested again.  Some people on the plane had the virus (that was quick!).  So everyone is put in a quarantine hotel. … 72 tennis players for 2 weeks.  No training.  Big problem.
Big arguments in Greece – Church versus Covid
Churches were open on 6^th January (that is their Christmas).  They were supposed to have masks and social distance.  But many priests refused to follow the rules.  They said their faith will protect the people.  It has caused a big argument in the Church and also with the Government.  Odd since the Head of the Greek Church, was in hospital with the virus.
The Story of Joe the Pigeon
Phew!  Joe the pigeon saved!  A man in Melbourne found Joe the racing pigeon in his garden.  It had a leg tag with the name Joe Biden.  They believed it had been blown across the Ocean from USA – it had got lost.  So the Health people said it could carry the virus and was not allowed to stay in Australia.  They wanted to kill it.  People protested.  In the end they decided it was a hoax from somewhere in Australia.  Joe the pigeon lives!
