German Chancellor Angela Merkel plans to cancel strict lockdown over 5 days at Easter. She said she made a mistake in ordering a new lockdown and took the responsibility for the “U” turn. The leaders of the 16 States and businesses complained about the” lockdown restrictions made Merkel cancel her plans although the numbers of infections are soaring. The churches say their Easter services will go ahead now with hygiene arrangements and video streams are available for those who don’t want to attend.
A combination of different Covid variant found in India.  Sounds scary but officials are now checking if the new variant is more infectious or less affected by vaccines. On Wednesday India reported 47,000 new cases and 275 deaths, the highest rise this year.  Indian government say the double mutant variant is not the reason for the rise.
American bank Citigroup now urging staff to have Zoom-free Fridays for better work-life balance and to prevent fatigue. Many businesses are now sorting out their future working arrangements for the end of pandemic. Citigroup staff probably will start to return to the office part time first. Another company, Microsoft told their staff that they will have the option of working from home permanently if their managers approve.
