George Floyd brother gives statement at hearing in Washington asking for police reform to be done soon. He said his brother was punished because he was accused of having a fake $20 bill. He should not have died for $20. He believes the police were planning to get him.
EU now agreeing to be tough on UK to make sure there is a “level playing field” – means that UK should be the same (common standards) as EU for fair competition, on workers’ rights and the environment. They are concerned that Britain will not carry out what was agreed last year. No hope of breakthrough when Boris meets the President of the European Commission this month. Business leaders in UK say it is impossible to cope with no-deal Brexit and virus.
The huge oil spill in the Arctic in Russia could take years to clean up. A fuel storage tank burst and flooded a river. There will be a lot of damage to the environment and to wildlife.
USA now has over 2 million virus cases. Trump still wants to start up large rallies with no social distancing. His team do not wear masks either. Plans for rally on 19th June in Tulsa. This city has bad history of racism. In 1921 there was a race massacre where mobs of white people attacked the black people.
