The situation in the White House is not good … at least 11 of the staff or supporters have the virus or are working from home … including his daughter.  People are upset that Trump came back and took off his mask, even though he could still be spreading the virus.  There are now strict rules about having contact with Trump as close assistants have to wear gowns and full PPE when they go into his room.  He can still spread the virus.
Biden (Presidential candidate) gave a big speech yesterday at Gettysburg.  This is a very famous place because Abraham Lincoln gave a speech to the soldiers and the country in 1858.  He said, “a house divided cannot stand”.  He was talking about the Civil war and slavery.  Now Biden says the same:  America is divided and fighting against itself.  He wants to see people coming together with respect.
In German parliament it is compulsory to wear masks.  In Berlin all bars, restaurants, shops and businesses have to close at 11pm until 6am.  Maximum numbers of people together is 5 during this time.  Other times there can be 10 people together inside and 25 outside.
Another German story.  They planned a new airport in Berlin 14 years ago.  It was supposed to open in 2011 to replace the old airports.  But there were delays and scandals about the money and it was billions of euros over budget.  For years they had to keep the lighting an heating on but the airport was not ready.  Now finally it is all ready.  Only trouble is …. No passengers! Because of the virus, travel by air has nearly stopped.  Oh dear.
