Recording of a telephone call released in the USA of Trump trying to change the result of the election in the State of Georgia.  He made a phone call and repeated a list of claims about fraud which the Georgia Secretary of State said were incorrect.  Trump said what the Secretary of State was doing could be a criminal offence.  He was trying to get him to change the result of the election.  This is an “abuse of power” by Trump.  It is very serious.
Schools in Kenya have just re-opened.  They closed in March last year to try to stop the virus spreading.  They have to wear masks in class but teachers are not sure that it is safe.
Not good news from South Africa.  They have a new version of the virus.  This is easier to pass from one person to the next. Scientists are worried that the vaccines may not work so well with this version.  Urgent tests are happening just now.
Complicated situation in Iran.  There was an international deal to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb.  EU, Britain and the USA were involved.  Then Trump cancelled the deal.  The head of the nuclear programme in Iran was killed recently. Iran has gone back to developing the uranium.  This can be used to make weapons.  This is a serious situation for the countries in the Middle East.
Good news for women in Russia?  The government changed the rules. And now women can be train drivers, and lorry drivers and even captains of boats.  In the past, they said these jobs were too physical for women.
