Nearly 60 million people have now cast their votes in the US election … the actual election date is not until November 3rd

Polls say Biden is in the lead but the election system is complicated and Trump won the last time even though he had less votes than Hilary Clinton.
Trump continues to hold rallies where people are close together and he has no mask and signs autographs on people’s hats.  The vice president refuses to self-isolate even though people in his group have the virus.  The White House Chief of Staff now says they cannot control the virus.  Health officials are horrified by this behaviour and say it is completely the opposite of what would protect people’s health.
Scientists are warning that there will be serious damage to efforts to control the climate if Trump is elected.  He is supporting oil companies and changing rules so that the big companies can take over and use big areas of the country for exploring and mining.
In Belarus, 100 thousand people were in the protest in the capital city.  They say that if the President does not resign there will be a national strike from today.  Police were chasing people and making over a hundred arrests.  This is the 11th Sunday that there have been big protests.
Spain now has a national curfew because of the big rise in cases.  In Berlin police broke up a party with 600 people.  Frankfurt, Berlin Dusseldorf and Cologne have cancelled their traditional Christmas markets where there are usually thousand of people each evening.  France reports over 50 thousand cases per day.  The situation in Europe is not good.
