Many countries ignore Human Rights – oppress the people

We see a terrible situation in Myanmar – the army shoots people, refuses medical help.  It attacks people who protest.  On Thursday, the army dragged the leader of the main Trade Union from her office.  They took her to court then off to prison.  No justice.  The Chinese oppress the Uighur people.  They keep them in camps.  They force them to pick the cotton.  Nearly 25% of world cotton comes from this area.  There is pressure on big clothing companies to stop accepting the cotton from China.  The Chinese Government threatens the companies to stop them selling in China.
European Super League – what is all the fuss?
On Monday, 12 football clubs from England, Spain and Italy, agreed to have a European Super league.  They are not happy with the Champions League.  Right away, lots of people complain.  They say the clubs just want money.  The European Football Association say it is disgraceful.  They say it is the “dirty dozen” clubs.  Odd because the other football associations like the Premier League just want money as well.  They make threats that they will stop players from being in international teams.  Other sports have international competitions – rugby, tennis, cricket.  Football makes the most money.  PM Boris  said it was a bad idea.  The Government in UK will try to stop it.
New York is preparing for billions of cicadas and the noise
Cicadas are insects with wings.  They live underground for years then they all come out together.  They can be 2 inches long.  The males mate with females and die after 3 weeks.  The females can lay 600 eggs.  Then they all disappear again.  And live underground.  The last time they appeared in New York was 17 years ago.  Bad news – there are millions and millions of them flying and crawling around in parks and open space.  They don’t harm humans.  They are expected to come out this year in May.  Bad news for hearing people – the males make a noise up to 100 decibels loud – good time to be deaf.
