they helped Jaguar to keep going,
they bought part of Thames Water;
they own part of Heathrow airport,
they produce a quarter of North Sea oil;
they are building the nuclear plant in Somerset:
the Huawei company is key to the new mobile phone network. Their chairman in UK is British and was head of BP before
One quarter of overseas students in universities are Chinese.
It will be really difficult if UK is arguing with China.
Florida reports a record increase in virus cases. Hospitals say they are full. If Florida was a country it would be 4th in the world for cases. Last week Disney World opened. It is one of the worst areas for the virus. The governor started to tell bars and restaurants to close. But people start to demonstrate against the closures. Trump does a U-turn and says he was never against masks. He is in pictures with a mask on. But some ordinary Americans refuse – they say it is against their personal freedom.
Record increase in virus numbers over the weekend. Now near 13 million. Scientists say that like the common cold, you can catch the virus more than once. This is because the defences your body builds up don’t stay for ever. So after a few months the defences get less. Even young people will have problems because catching it one time may do some damage to lungs and later it could be worse. Even a vaccine might not help. They have to find a different way to fight against corona virus.
