Biden signed many orders – but it will take time to happen
New President Biden signed 27 orders to stop what Trump was doing.  He wants to help poor people by giving extra money for food and if they are unemployed.  But the Republicans are trying to block the main plans.  This is going to be hard as each new person Biden want to come in has to be approved by the Congress.  At the moment the votes are 50:50 so it will take a lot longer to pass all the new laws they need.
Deaf man arrested in Capitol riot
Oh dear, it looks like a deaf man was involved in the riots in Washington.  He has been arrested.  You can watch the ASL version of the news here. If he is guilty, it could be ten years in prison
Gold mine cave-in – miners rescued
January 10^th there was an explosion in a Chinese Gold mine.  There were 22 men trapped.  They thought it would be easy to get them out.  But they had to drill down to find them and that drill hole got flooded.  Then they found 11 men still alive and they can send down notes and water and simple food.  But they have managed to drill a large enough hole so that they men can be brought up.  They are 600 metres below ground.  But the 11 have been rescued.
