Mount Nyiragongo in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has erupted
There is hot lava flowing on houses. Thousands of people had to flee from their homes in the city of Goma. The DRC government has a plan to evacuate 2 million people from the city. The volcano erupted in 2002 killing 250 people and making 120,000 homeless. 
Cable Car disaster in Italy
At least 12 people have been killed when a cable car fell down a mountain near Lake Maggiore in North Italy. We do not know exactly the cause. Local people say the cable snapped 300 metres from the top of the mountain. Rescue workers say that the cable car was crumpled after falling.
Horrendous weather in China killed 21 marathon runners.
Unexpected high winds and freezing rain hit the runners in the 60 mile ultra-marathon in the Yellow River Stone Forest. They stopped the race  – 172 runners were missing.  They found 150 safe but others had hypothermia and died. More than 1,200 people were in the rescue.  They used thermal-imaging drones and radar detectors.
Serious – Belarus air control diverted a plane to arrest a reporter
European nations have demanded the release of a critic of Belaraus.  Belarus diverted a Ryanair flight from Greece to Lithuania to make it land in Minsk in Belarus.  The Belarus flight control said there was bomb scare.  But this was an excuse – they wanted to capture Roman Protasevich –  he was someone who criticised the Government in Belarus.  It was a sky hijack – like pirates.  Other countries have strong objections.
