Did you stay up late on Sunday? Are you a fan of American Football? Sunday was the Superbowl. Big event in the USA. The adverts cost over $5 million for 30 seconds on television. It goes on for 5 hours .. so most people in UK go to bed. But, important they start with the US National Anthem … and guess what, they have a deaf man to sign it in ASL. It was shown on television. Over 100 million people saw it. When will we have the national anthem in BSL? Actually … how do you sign the UK national anthem … “send her victorious, happy and glorious …long to reign over us ….” ???
Can you believe it? Lawyers for Trump now claim that Trump did not encourage the people to storm the Capitol building on January 6th. They say it was all planned in advance. Odd. Trump set up the big protest – he told people to come to Washington. He told them he won the election. He told them to march to the Capitol. He told them to “fight like hell.” It is all on video. But the lawyers say this is fake. His trial starts on Tuesday.
Excitement on Mars this month. There are three countries biting their nails. Why? because they are planning to land a spacecraft on the planet Mars. China, USA and the Emirates. USA is most advanced as they are sending a special helicopter in the spacecraft. It has taken 7 months for each spaceship to arrive near Mars. A lot could still go wrong. Wait and see.
Only in Australia. See this koala at the wheel. It caused a pile up of cars on the motorway in Adelaide. People stopped to see what was happening and the crash happened. We do not know if the koala had a driver’s licence.
