There are 321 separate vaccines being tested by scientists all over the world.  Different countries are paying for the development.  They are agreeing to buy the vaccine when the trials are done… except no one knows which vaccine might actually work.  One good idea is that 78 rich countries have got together to support the vaccine trials and they say they will make sure 20% of the supplies of the vaccine when successful, will be given to poorer countries.  The USA is not involved in this.
At least 30 people have died in the forest fires in California, Oregon and Washington State.  It is the worst ever and caused by very dry conditions and heatwave.
France and Germany have agreed to take 400 children from the Lesbos refugee camp which burned down.  Terrible situation as people have to live on the street and have no proper support.  The Greek people on Lesbos island, want the refugees to go away from their island.  The Greek government wants the EU to take the people.  The refugees are angry and the police make it worse by using tear gas to try to control people.  There are over 10 thousand people with nowhere to sleep except out in the open.
Continuing problems in Belarus as crowds are still marching in the streets against the President.  The police forces are just grabbing people and arresting them or attacking them.
Citroen is selling a new car.  The Citroen Ami is tiny, electric, it can travel 45 miles and speed up to 30 mph.  It is only 2.4 metres long and 1.4 metres wide.  The battery recharges in 3 hours from ordinary electricity socket.  They say it is perfect for Paris where parking is really hard.  Because of its size and its limits it is very cheap – only £5,500.  And kids of 14 years old can drive it.
