Serious problem in the EU.  Countries thought they had approved the new budget (1.1 trillion euros) for the next 7 years (starting 2021).  But when it came to the final vote Hungary and Poland refused.  They refused because the agreement said that all countries had to “respect the rule of law”.  Hungary and Poland have not been following the rules of the EU in the way they have interfered in their political and justice systems.  There is a big concern in the EU about those countries.  So they refused to agree the budget – some countries are desperate for the money to start in January.  It is a major problem.
USA virus situation getting worse – 1,000 people dying everyday.  Trump refuses to deal with this and refuses to allow the health departments to work with the incoming President Biden.  Health experts are tearing their hair out.
The Hurricane (name Iota) is worse than they thought.  It was a category 5 (the worst) – then it landed in Nicaragua.  The winds are up to 160 miles per hour and there is a huge storm surge (very high waves).  In Honduras, they said it was like a bomb.  People living near the sea or by rivers, have to move out.  The last hurricane 2 weeks ago killed 200 people.
Good jump!  Help for the Chinese from a British diplomat.  Well, help for one Chinese woman who fell in the river.  British man (61 years old) saw what was happening and jumped into the river to save her.  Chinese people watching said they did not know how to swim.
