One of the big vaccine trials (60,000 patients in USA) has paused for the moment because one person got ill.  They do not understand exactly the cause, so they cannot carry on for just now.  Another big trial from UK was stopped twice for the same reason.  This is one of the problems of trying to go fast with the vaccine – there could be side effects which might be as bad as the virus itself.
Problem in India where schools have closed down over large areas and parents are out of work.  This means that many children have to go out to work.  The trouble is that this does not mean working delivering newspapers, it is often run by gangs to traffic the children to factories and the conditions are terrible.  At the same time, families are starving because the parents’ work has stopped due to the virus.
The situation in Belarus has not improved.  There are still big protests against the president and the rigged election.  Police have been attacking demonstrators and arresting people at random.  Now they say that have permission to shoot people.  The EU is now trying to use financial sanctions and travel restrictions to put pressure on the president and the people around him to stop attacking their own people.
Trump went to Florida and had a rally of supporters.  He is rubbishing the virus and saying he is immune.  He ignores the facts that 215 thousand people have died from the virus in the USA.
Can you believe this?  Singapore airlines are offering people to have meals on a plane.  They can watch a movie at the same time.  The only problem is that the plane is on the ground and is not flying.  But the places were booked out and there is a waiting list of people who want to be in a plane again!!!  It costs £30 in economy seats but up to £360 in first class.  Crazy?
