The Czech Prime Minister has apologised to people because he says was “carried away” with the summer and the positive mood and so he lifted all virus restrictions.  Now the country has cases increasing and is the second worst in the EU.
More issues in the USA – every day.  Now Trump threatens three cities – Seattle, Portland and New York- that he will take away the money they have from the Government because he says they encourage crime and protesters.  The cities say this is wrong and that this is just a political game he is playing.
The global warming has now reduced the sea ice in the Arctic Ocean to the second lowest level ever.  Why is this important?  Because when the ice melts it leaves the water exposed to sunlight and that means that it warms up.  The warmer water is bad for polar bears and seals and a lot of smaller fish life.  Scientists say this is a red alert.
Quite often there are reports about whales swimming on to the beach – they call it stranding.  But a large group of whales (over 200) have got stranded in Tasmania in Australia.  Over 90 whales have already died.  There are special rescue teams who try to push the whales back out into deeper water and then some are able to swim away.  They believe that many will be saved.  We do not know why this stranding happens to whales.
