Now very serious in Melbourne Australia:  5 million residents barred from leaving home for six weeks, except for essential reasons.  Police have checkpoints to enforce the measures.  Borders between Victoria and the rest of Australia closed on Tuesday.  The concern is that this happening in other countries.  Hong Kong is also seeing a new surge.  Even New Zealand is concerned after two people escaped from quarantine – now the police are guarding to stop people moving around.
Remember Trump had a rally in Tulsa two weeks ago?  Well now there is a surge in virus cases in the area.  The health experts have set out the guidance for opening schools but Trump didn’t like this – he says it is too difficult and expensive.  They are now supposed to change the rules.  Trump threatened to cut funding to schools if they do not open.  Then the vice president tried to defend this but did not answer the questions the reporters asked.
The world figures are now over 12 million virus cases and over 550 thousand deaths.  Oxfam now tells us that hunger may be a bigger problem in Africa.  The reason is that there are big job losses because other countries are not able to buy products and food from them and there are transport issues so that aid is not getting through. Hong Kong China Clampdown:  Australia is now offering an extension visa for five years to 10 thousand students and other already in Australia.  There are also new people applying and they will be able to get 5 years.  Like the UK Australia is not happy about what is happening in Hong Kong.
