Virus roundup:  India opened up after lockdown and now there is a big surge in virus cases – 10 thousand new on Thursday.  USA has 2 million positive tests; Russia says 500 thousand.  In Germany, there are small rises in cases but deaths are still low.  They are scrapping the social distance in some states but people have to wear masks in public places and in shops.  Finland, Norway Denmark have opened borders to allow people to travel but not opened to Sweden – they still have high rates.  EU opened internal borders but not to UK.  Germany advises people not to travel to UK.  Mexico and Brazil have high rates.  In China, very few now now – Beijing the capital says only one case in two months.  New Zealand has no cases at all.
In Seattle, in USA, George Floyd protesters have taken over one area of the city, and said it is a police-free district.  Trump said the people were “domestic terrorists.”  But the Governor of the State said Trump should stay out of the State’s business.  The district is now called Chaz and is peaceful. Around the world, the shares and stock markets prices have been falling (maybe 7%) because they are afraid of a second wave of virus.  Most people do not feel directly affected by this but everyone who is paying for a pension is worse off as the pension funds invest the money in the stock market.
