World news. 15^th September
Terrible fires in the west of the USA.   The air quality is really bad and in some places it is like night time during the day.   Trump arrives and says it is the fault of the people who do not manage the forest properly.  A lot of the forests are the responsibility of Trump’s Government.  Biden (Democrat candidate) and the Governors and the Fire experts says it is because of climate change.  Trump denies that there is climate change.  When they asked him about global warming, he just said “it would get cooler” and also that Science people do not really know.
Surprise – Trump held an indoor rally in Nevada.  He ignored the State rules about face masks and social distancing and so did the people in the crowd.  Health experts say he is behaving in an irresponsible way and still denies that there is a virus problem.  The company that organised the event are fined $3 thousand (not very much) for breaking the Nevada State rules about the virus.
Greece and Turkey have a bad relationship.  This goes back a hundred years.  Now there is a problem with a small island between the two countries.  Turkey wants to drill for oil and gas.  So does Greece.  In August, Turkey sent navy ships into the area and then there were Greek and Turkish military exercises.  Now the Greek president has made a visit to the island.  This could become a bigger fight between the two countries.
Virus update:  Overall cases are nearly 30 million in the world.  Brazil has over 132 thousand deaths; USA has over 190 thousand deaths.  The situation in Marseille in France is bad and hospitals are almost full now.
