The number of people who died in the UK is much more than they report.  Up to 1^st May, they said only 28 thousand, but if they add other people with death certificate saying Covid-19, the number is 36 thousand.  But if they add in all the people who have died, more than usual, this time of year, there are over 50 thousand people who have passed away from direct and indirect effect of virus.
The deaths in care homes in the UK are getting less.  Good news, we hope.
Children’s hospital in Cambridge says there are many empty beds.  They say parents are not bringing sick children to hospital because of fears of the virus.
Doctors in UK are asking people over the age of 50 years who have symptoms, to try out new drugs.  They have to report every day for four weeks so that the researchers can find out the effects.  No new breakthroughs to report at the moment.
Government still does not reach target of 100 thousand tests everyday.  Boris wants 200 thousand!  Big concern that results of tests do not come back quick enough.  Health experts say it should be 24 hours maximum, but it can be 3 to 4 days for some.
What does “STAY ALERT” mean?  No one really knows. It just makes it the responsibility of ordinary people to protect against the virus.  Government should say “GET TESTED if you have any worries or symptoms”.
