Riots continue in USA – 75 cities have protests and there have been some people shot by police. The National Guard has been called in – that is a reserve, military force.  Protests also in the UK.  Liverpool players respect “Black Lives Matter” movement by “taking a knee” (see photo). 

There is a big increase in the research budget for the EU in the Horizon Europe programme.  These budgets have supported Deaf Studies in the UK for the last 20 years.  Unfortunately, as of December, it looks as if we will not be able to use these programmes to work with deaf colleagues across Europe, because of Brexit.
More on Brexit as EU is not prepared to give special deal to UK.  They say no “cherry-picking”. Means try to pick out the good aspects and forget the difficult problems.  EU say it is not necessary to offer special concessions to UK even if there have been other examples in other countries.
Google is delaying the launch of Android version 11.  They say that with riots and other problems it is not a good time to be celebrating.   Sony expect to show examples of the new games for the Sony Playstation 5 on 4^th June, but they are also saying that this could be delayed because of the problems in the USA.
